We are currently seeking a Sr. Engineering Manager - View Platform

. The View Platform team is a cross functional team comprised of extremely talented individuals. We are building the next generation framework that supports our front-end experience teams who drive BestBuy.com. On a daily basis, we encounter and solve interesting engineering challenges, using the latest technology and frameworks, which allows our platform to easily scale to meet the demands of a top 5 e-commerce site.

What you will do as a Sr. Engineering Manager:

Manage the delivery efforts for an agile team of co-located, highly skilled, collaborative, and energetic software engineers working on the View Platform

Foster the career development for all of the software engineers, quality engineers, and automation engineers that comprise the View Platform

Lead application design and solution design within the broader View Platform architecture

Develop and review code using current and leading-edge programming languages, frameworks, and technologies

Provide expertise in software development lifecycle phases, including concept, design, development, testing and deployment

Collaborate with cross-discipline teams to solve problems of a top 5 e-commerce website

Share and champion ideas that evolve how we build our software product

Minimum Qualifications:

8 or more years of web development experience using languages such as Java and a bachelor’s degree, or 10 years of experience without a bachelor’s degree

6 or more years of experience building web applications using Java, Spring, and REST

2 or more years of experience managing (formally or informally) a team of developers or software engineers, inclusive of coaching and mentoring

Strong working knowledge of modern engineering concepts including Design Patterns, Component Based Architecture, Domain Driven Design, and Microservices

Knowledge of all of the following specifications: HTML, JSON, and REST

Preferred Qualifications:

Disciplined software engineering habits including: TDD, Automated Unit Testing

Experience with modern web application tools and technologies including: RESTFUL Web Services, Spring Boot, HTML5, Splunk, JMeter

Exposure to one or more Cloud Computing Platforms, such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure

3 or more years of experience writing software applications for large-scale, distributed web or service-oriented environments

3 or more years of experience in ReactJS, NodeJS, JavaScript

2 or more years of experience developing automated unit tests using Junit or Spock

2 or more years of experience using NoSQL data stores

2 or more years of experience using functional programming on JVM

Experience with reactive programming frameworks, such as ReactiveX

Experience with off-heap caching solutions, such as Memcached

Experience with container platforms, such as Docker

Experience with at least one CDN

Experience leading small technical teams
