Job Details:
SUMMARY: To lead and direct a team of food safety quality assurance professionals to develop, implement, and verify food safety quality systems for the Tyson Fresh Meats further processing division [case ready]. This position is a key member of the case-ready/value-added leadership team, and the role is centered around building systems to ensure brand protection by leading food safety solutions, achieving regulatory compliance and meeting customer expectations to contribute to the success of the business unit. Demonstrated technical knowledge and/ or operational settings within beef, pork and/ or poultry categories are necessary for success in this position.
Key deliverables include leading safety culture within FSQA, achieving pathogen control standards, reduction in foreign material potentials, regulatory compliance, development of product specifications, budget adherence and business development objectives. This position will have research and development projects as assigned by the VP FSQA Tyson Fresh Meats.
Successful candidate will have a demonstrated history of performance with like- business units, internal and external stakeholders, operations, sales, corporate and plant FSQA teams and numerous other collaborators within Tyson Foods.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor of Science degree or higher in a discipline directly related to the job such as science based or business-related fields.
Experience: 10 plus years of experience with focus on food safety quality systems product development and margin-business acumen as related to red meat or poultry processes.
Computer Skills: Basic computer skills including generating simple letters spreadsheets and or graphics for personal business use or creating simple queries and simply formatted data output using a fourth-generation language. If using a Tyson Business Computer System job requires an understanding of the system features and functionality and how to use these features. Experience in data analytics preferred.
Supervisory: Responsible for leading food safety and quality personnel who perform diverse task sand activities in more than one department.
Travel: 15 or more trips per year.
