Your opportunity
Support Janus Henderson’s retail direct business channel on various regulatory and compliance matters, including pre-litigation, litigation and other legal proceeding matters.
Assist in the investigation of the facts of claims, cases, and matters, and in the implementation, tracking, and managing litigation holds..
Perform legal research on issues and cases identified by the supervising attorney in support of litigation related matters.
Assist in the production, review, and analysis of documents in connection with the discovery process or in response to subpoenas, including but not limited to determining responsiveness of production materials and drafting summaries of reviewed documents and production materials.
Support the preparation of initial drafts of a variety of legal documents for review by the supervising attorney, such as discovery responses, complaints, motions, and settlement agreements in pre-litigation and litigation matters.
Organize, manage, and analyzes claim, case, and matter documentation; assist the supervising attorney in identifying relevant information including through drafting reports and other documentation for litigation-related matters.
Assist in the review and negotiation of Janus Henderson’s intermediary mutual fund and ETF distribution agreements and separately managed account agreements.
Review contracts and understand contractual agreement terms.
Support the mutual fund, ETF and separately managed account contract review process, including assisting in the agreement drafting, negotiation and risk assessment process.
Work closely with internal department to validate new contract terms and seek approvals as needed.
Perform routine legal support activities, including word-processing, preparing basic contracts, presentations, correspondence, and other legal documents, and communicating with internal and external clients.
Support the Janus Henderson’s corporate insurance program.
Coordinate with supervising attorneys to support the firm’s global insurance program and policy maintenance and assist in submitting notice of potential claims to and provide status to insurance broker.
Research and address inquiries regarding policy coverage and provisions from internal and external parties

Must have skills
Paralegal certification or significant paralegal experience
Experience in litigation management, reviewing and analyzing case-related documents and records
Experience drafting pleadings, discovery, and routine correspondence for pre-litigation and litigation related matters
Critical thinking and analytical skills, including the ability to make decisions based on applicable laws and underlying risk
Proficiency in viewing, annotating, and organizing litigation support related documents
Nice to have skills
Four to five years’ experience as a paralegal
Experience in mutual fund/financial services industry
Experience with various corporate and transactional matters, ideally but not necessarily in financial services
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, time management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously
Familiarity with complex contracts and experience managing the contract review, negotiation and execution process, including a firm understanding of risk management as it applies to the contract management process
Advanced analytical and research skills
Ability to follow complex instructions and processes with the ability to work with little supervision

Compensation information
The base salary range for this position is $90,000-$100,000. This range is estimated for this role. Actual pay may be different.

Annual Bonus Opportunity:
Position is eligible to receive an annual discretionary bonus award from the profit pool. The profit pool is funded based on Company profits. Individual bonuses are determined based on Company, department, team and individual performance.
