Job Description:
What's the role -
The Northern California Wholesale Territory Manager will need to: Identify, qualify, negotiate, and win new business with independent business owners. Ensure that Shell’s customer value proposition is delivered to the motoring public. Deliver volume and margin that is consistent with the business objectives within the SOPUS Region. Strengthen SOPUS brand equity and market share within the assigned geography. Support Shell E-Mobility initiatives, including EV. Support local wholesalers in growing their business and developing within their geographies. Ensure Shell’s wholesalers receive the highest level of customer service within the industry and are supported in their investments into the Shell brand.
Sales Consultancy- This role requires personal development and understanding of industry trends, risks, and opportunities that can be utilized to help our wholesalers grow, develop, and defend their businesses.
Pipeline- Creating a pipeline of new wholesalers that can develop and grow the Shell brand while providing outstanding customer service.
Increase the value- of the Shell brand to existing customers through our consultancy and response times to ensure Shell is continually viewed as the best branded supplier within the markets.
Plan Professional Sales Calls- by utilizing current sales planning tools, plan sales calls and visits to ensure the appropriate level of service to both new and existing customers with a focus on expanding and growing existing relationships and acquiring new relationships.
Support and help expand Mobility initiatives, including EV and Hydrogen initiatives.
Effectively implement national programs and marketing initiatives.
Be responsible and proactive in HSSE activities that affect the individual, office, wholesalers, and customers.
Be accountable for own development and continuous improvement.

In this role the successful candidate will be responsible for helping to promote, grow, and develop Shell's brand equity through both current and new wholesale channel partners. The role requires Sales consultancy, market development, and relationship management within the wholesale class of trade to ensure our customers receive the full value of our customer value proposition and remain loyal to Shell and its products.
Skills & Requirements
What we need from you -
Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
Bachelor's Degree required
Minimum ten (10) years work experience in territory sales with P L accountability responsibility across given territory
Demonstrated ability to grow sales as measured by period-over-period increases in one or more of the following key performance indicators:
Sales volume
Market share
Indirect channel efficiency
Overall profitability
Per unit profit
Previous experience successfully overseeing credit performance
Previous experience setting pricing strategies to maximize profitability
Previous experience developing and negotiating multi-year sales agreements
Previous experience negotiating independent dealer contract renewals
Previous experience managing brand messages, outlining and selling in marketing and sales strategies and monitoring performance against those initiatives
Previous experience working with large complex MOGs and dealing with high-level buyers and complex negotiations
Knowledge of Salesforce and Microsoft Office
