Work You’ll Do

The IT Sourcing and Category Management Manager is responsible for selling sourcing projects, leading category management planning, strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and ongoing supplier management programs in support of IT organizations. This role leads a team that partners with key stakeholder at client accounts, identifies and sells and then leads the delivery of IT cost reduction programs.

Main responsibilities include:

Identify IT sourcing opportunities and drive sales across sub-categories of Hardware, Software, Telecom, and IT Services

Build out IT category knowledge and strategies for IT sourcing and cost reductions

Stay up to date on industry trends and leading-edge practices

Lead teams to source IT spend for clients

Synthesize findings into actionable insights and robust sourcing strategies

Develop complex total cost of ownership models

Present finding and recommendations to client executives

Finalize consulting decisions by guiding teams through large complex negotiations and contracting process

Build maintain and manage relationships with key client stakeholders and delegate action to teams to address escalated issues to ensure client satisfaction

Act as IT sourcing subject matter expert and show a deep understanding of category cost drivers and market intelligence

Work with clients and suppliers to identify continuous cost improvement opportunities

Qualifications

Required

12 years of industry and/or consulting experience in IT sourcing, supplier management, or category management

Experience leading sourcing teams, implementing and delivering large strategic sourcing and or cost reduction projects

Project management experience

Experience with MS Office suite (e.g. Excel and PowerPoint)

Bachelor's Degree

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Ability to travel up to 50% (While up to 50% travel is a requirement of the role, due to COVID-19, non-essential travel has been suspended until further notice)

Preferred

Experience with visualization tools, such as Tableau

CXO facing experience

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment

Experience leading teams

Experience with IT categories (ex. IT hardware, software, IT services and Telecom)
