. Based in Houston and reporting to the Vice President and Chief Communications Officer, this is a high-profile opportunity for someone who wants to help drive engagement across one of the most talented workforces in the industry and tell the story of the energy transition.
The Director of Internal Communications
in this role will have global oversight for the creation and implementation of modern internal communication strategies that help articulate the strategic narrative of the company, drive manager engagement, and foster a culture of innovation, technology and performance among the company’s workforce. The role requires strong storytelling skills and the ability to take high-level technical content, combine it with large-scale global trends and thought leadership across the energy industry, and articulate it into compelling, engaging content for employees. The position collaborates and plans integrated campaigns with the Directors of Executive, External, Brand and Regional Communications, as well as leads a team of world-class internal communications managers and specialists.
The ideal candidate will be a creative and confident communications professional with a background in corporate or agency environments and a history of driving successful and innovative communications efforts, particularly in environments focused on technology and innovation. Expert written and verbal communication are required as is a fluency in English and Associated Press Style. Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities and deadlines is required, as is experience in change management.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Developing and executing the global internal communications strategy.
Supporting major initiatives and campaigns across the enterprise, including our culture campaign, annual employee survey, service recognition program, mergers and acquisitions and leadership changes.
Managing and continuously improving SLB’s internal communications channels, including our direct e-mail system, intranet, manager toolkits and others.
Integrating and planning master editorial calendar along with executive, external, brand and regional communication teams.
Supporting cross-communication measurement and effectiveness, including open rates, click-through rates and others.
Driving modern and engaging content that is on-brand, understandable and compelling.
Qualifications and Experience:
15 years of professional experience driving successful communications campaigns and results, with a bachelor's degree.
Ability to match creative strategy with modernized and enhanced tactics.
World-class writing/storytelling ability.
Ability to synthesize complex information into compelling and engaging content.
Experience working directly with C-level executives.
Executive maturity, ability to influence for impact, curiosity and self-awareness, desire to test and learn.
Experience working in a global, dynamic environment.
Acumen in technology and innovation topics.
Ability to work across institutional boundaries.
Proven agility, with a strong orientation for delivering results while embracing change.
Outstanding communication skills, with fluency in written and spoken English.
