Description

The Associate Director, Cyber Data Protection Management develops and executes security controls, defenses and countermeasures to intercept and prevent internal or external attacks or attempts to infiltrate company email, data, e-commerce and web-based systems. The Associate Director, Cyber Data Protection Management requires a solid understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across department(s).

Responsibilities

Associate Director, Data Protection Engineering

The Associate Director, Data Protection Engineering develops and implements technical controls to protect sensitive data across the organization. Data Protection Engineering represents the intersection of cybersecurity, data analytics, software engineering, legal, risk, and compliance. This role will report to the Associate Vice President, Data Use & Test Data Engineering.

What You'll Do

You will lead a team to drive principled data 'Privacy by design' guidance, operational processes, and infrastructure and automation tools that enable product and engineering teams to embed our data protection principles from the outset to meet growing compliance and user trust demands, without compromising speed and innovation. This role requires a solid understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across departments.

Key Responsibilities:

Work to align advanced technologies and Privacy by Design principles in the initial stages of software development to ensure that the data use meets established regulatory and compliance needs

Drive the implementation of enterprise solutions to ensure data use policies are correctly implemented. The implementations will ensure the compliance of the use while supporting the business processes reliant on the data.

Partner with product and engineering teams to deliver innovative data solutions including data tagging, data anonymization, pseudonimization, tokenization, and encryption to develop systems that preserve and improve data protections.

Manage a team of engineers who work with our product and engineering teams though out development to ensure that the data collection and usage practices are transparent, protect user privacy, and mitigate risk.

Required Qualifications

3 or more years of management experience

6 or more years' technical experience in a combination of Software Engineering, Data Analytics, and/or Cyber Security

Experience driving technology implementation in a highly matrixed organization

Ability to effectively work with, develop relationships, and collaborate across stakeholders

Backend development experience with a solid foundation in data pipelines, distributed systems, or large-scale data processing

Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration skills, in particular in leading or contributing to global and multi-functional teams.\

Experience or understanding of software applications design tools and languages

Demonstrated working knowledge of software engineering fundamentals

Understanding of design for software applications running on multiple platforms.

Data literacy: finding and managing data, cleansing data, manipulating data

Preferred Qualifications

Masters' Degree in a Technical Field
