Description

The Director, Technology Solutions devises an effective strategy for executing and delivering on IT business initiatives specific to care delivery technology and the core EMR/EHR. The Director, Technology Solutions requires an in-depth understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across Humana's Primary Care segment, overall CenterWell healthcare business, and the enterprise as a whole.

Responsibilities

The Director acts as a liaison and collaborates with the business and functional stakeholders to identify and deliver strategic enablement solutions. Decisions are typically related to the implementation of new/updated programs or large-scale projects for the function and supporting technical/operational procedures and processes, and implements strategic plans, drives goals and objectives, and improves performance. Provides input into functions strategy. Specific to this role, the Director will

Develop and implement strategies for the integration of EMR software with various healthcare systems

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and test EMR software modules and applications

Manage the implementation and ongoing maintenance of EMR systems to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements

Identify and address technical issues related to EMR software and hardware components

Develop and manage project plans for software development initiatives, including budget and resource allocation

Build and maintain relationships with healthcare providers, vendors, and stakeholders

Work across business and technology training teams to manage end-to-end change for end-users specific to EMR software and applications

Develop policies and procedures for the use and access of EMR software to ensure security and compliance with HIPAA regulations

Oversee the concierge support/help desk function specific to EMR software and care delivery applications

Work around vendor management, business leaders, and key EMR vendors to create a program of application performance accountability including UI responsiveness, overall quality of releases, adherence to regulatory and legal change, and general business continuity. This may require knowledge of performance tooling and a dedicated focus on clinician and patient user experience.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Healthcare Informatics, or related field

8 years of experience in healthcare IT and software development

5 years of management experience

In-depth knowledge of EMR/EHR systems and healthcare workflows

Experience managing software development projects and teams

Familiarity with healthcare regulations and compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA, HITECH)

Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously

Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

In-depth knowledge of development leveraging FHIR, SMART on FHIR, client and server SDKs, JSON/XML, ADTs, HL7

Preferred Qualifications

Experience leading digital/mobile development teams and initiatives

Hands-on experience developing solutions which interface programmatically with one or more EMRs/EHRs

Experience leading an end-to-end implementation of an EMR or EHR.

Salesforce development

Formal product management experience

Experience overseeing a clinical technologies end user support team

Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership

Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.

Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.

Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information
